Indias HGIS 2.0. This dataverse is the repository for the follow-up initiative for the completed project HGIS de las Indias (https://dataverse.harvard.edu/dataverse/hgis-indias ; Funded by Austrian Scientific Funds (FWF): P 26379-G18). The datasets for the original scope will continue to be updated there and mirrored here. Everything beyond the original scope will be reposited exclusively here. The dataverse contains spatial and tabular datasets, covering the territorial structure and settlements with colonial identity, as well as institutional and socioeconomic data for Spanish America. It currently covers mostly the 18th and early 19th centuries.
